Teak Gateleg Table

Every morning, you take a walk around the block, stopping ever so often to admire your neighbors’ garden. The cobblestone walks, the towering trees, blooms that seem to envelope the entire lawn and in the heart of said place sits a single teak gateleg table and a couple of garden boulder seats—wonderful scene, isn’t it?

This is the garden that you wish you could have. But for that to happen, you need to break the bank or burn a hole in your pocket but I bet you can do a wonderful job even if it is a DIY project. Here are pointers when one is landscaping on a budget.

Before sticking anything on the ground, one must first do a little research. Visit the public library. Know the types of plants that will prosper in your locale. Do you need drought resistant plants? Or are cold resistant plants more appropriate?

When you’re at it, try to visualize what you want in your garden. Will you need seats? How about a similar teak gateleg table like that of your neighbor? Will such table survive when placed against the elements? Try to do all research on the same day so as not to waste valuable time.

Make a list of what you have, what you need and what you can get for free—well, not really free but it’s so cheap that it’s considered free like old teak chairs or old teak gateleg tables from garage sales or flea markets. Teak lawn furniture is not cheap, but if you’re patient and persistent enough, you might get one. Go to thrift shops, auction houses, garage sales, furniture shops or you can even ask your family and friends if they have spare lawn furniture.
